Handmade one at a time with finest quality materials, the mridangam is designed for live concerts, recordings and regular practise with superior tuning stability.

Perfect Single Piece Body

Carved out of single piece of jackfruit tree wood, selected personally by Mr.Elumalai from Panruti, Tamil Nadu. The body is carved in garage and left to season so that the wood becomes dry and becomes durable.

Craftsmanship - The Magic of Mr. Elumalai

The cow, ox, goat leather are selected from many pieces. Thicker the skin, the note becomes too bass, thinner leather means the note becomes high. Preparation of Mootu and building the right tension so that left and right head is attached to the body either by Vaar (Strap) or Nut & Bolt mechanism.
